Maple Tahini Matcha Latte | Vegan

I’ve said it again, I have a favorite ingredient combination and that is tahini-matcha. In a previous post I shared my matcha Tahini chia pudding recipe and of course I had to share a matcha latte that contains tahini as well.

There’s just something amazing about combining those two ingredients together! The bitter toasted sesame flavor compliments the vegetal, grassy flavor of matcha like no other seed of nut butter can.

This matcha latte is equal parts creamy, sweet, nutty, earthy. And of course it’s vegan, gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free.

It contains 6 ingredients and will take you less than 5 minutes to make, so it’s the perfect drink to start your day with or as an afternoon treat.

A perfect way to get you some boost of energy without the caffeine jitters, thanks to an amino acid found in matcha, called L-Theanine!

A warm matcha latte that's perfectly sweet and creamy with tahini for a toasted sesame aftertaste.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan heat up your water and coconut milk, add the matcha powder, tahini, maple syrup and cinnamon and mix well. Bring to a slow simmer.
  2. Pour half the liquid into a mug and froth using a frother. Pour the other half into a mug and add some more cinnamon if you would like.

    Notes:

  • You can use any dairy free milk you would like instead of coconut milk but I have noticed that coconut milk makes the latte more creamy.
  • You can add more maple syrup if you prefer your matcha latte more sweet.
  • Also you can add more cinnamon or skip it.
